根据官方更新日志，该更新汇总对Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Graphics, Windows Shell, Windows Silicon Platform, Windows Cloud Infrastructure, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Authentication, Windows Virtualization, Windows Core Networking, Windows Network Security and Containers, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows SQL components 和 Windows Remote Desktop 带来了安全更新。

此外，该更新也修复了通过用户界面创建 Null 端口时遇到的问题。该问题已经在本月发布的 Windows 10 累积更新中得到修复。微软解释说，新的月度汇总也已纠正了屏幕闪烁问题，因此，如果您以前在Windows 7上遇到过此类故障，则此月度汇总实际上可以使一切恢复正常。

2020年10月的 Windows 7 月度汇总仅包含一个已知问题，不过这是个遗留问题，会对 CSV 产生影响。微软表示称：“对群集共享卷（CSV）上的文件或文件夹执行的某些操作（例如重命名）可能会失败，并显示 STATUS_BAD_IMPERSONATION_LEVEL（0xC00000A5） 错误。当您从不具有管理员特权的进程对CSV所有者节点执行操作时，就会发生这种情况。”
